Fr Chris

We would like to extend you a warm welcome to the website of St. Marie’s Cathedral. St Marie’s has been a focal point of Catholic prayer and worship in Sheffield since 1850, and will continue to be so during these difficult times.

In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, we are not currently able to gather for public acts of worship. A Mass will be live-streamed from the Cathedral on a daily basis, but will take place without a public congregation. For more information about our live-streaming, please click here.

We would like to reassure you that the Cathedral is remaining open to the public, and those who are not having to self-isolate are invited to come and find solace and strength within our walls. The Cathedral will be open between the hours of 9am and 6pm each day, except on Sundays when it will be closed between 10.50-12pm, and 2.50-4pm for Mass to be recorded. We will be observing the practice of hygiene with great care, and observing the guidance on social distancing, and we ask you to do the same.

We will be producing a range of different resources on our website to support you spiritually at home – please look out for these. If you would like someone to keep in touch with you by phone, please email our Parish Pastoral Council on, or call Cathedral Office on 0114-2722522, and we will arrange for that to happen.

May God bless and comfort you,

Fr. Christopher Posluszny
