It’s been a while since we last updated you on the progress of the organ restoration fund. The work to restore and re-instate our Victorian Lewis pipe organ is making good progress and is nearing completion. The organ builders hope to finish by Christmas, however there will still be a period of settling in which we anticipate will take us to Easter when we intend to officially relaunch the organ.

We are also making good progress with the fundraising for this work and thanks to your generosity and support so far have raised more than £15,000 towards the £38,000 we need for our contribution to the £200,000 total cost of the project.

There have been many and varied fundraising events over the months including table top sales, social evenings, concerts and quizzes. All have been very enjoyable and raised useful amounts for the restoration fund. More will be planned in the New Year so keep an eye on the bulletin and notice boards for details and support those you can.

The latest initiative is the Christmas Draw and tickets are now available for this raffle which will be drawn on Christmas Eve. Tickets are 50p each or £1 a book and there are lots of lovely prizes. Again this will only be a success with your support so buy some if you can and take some to sell to your family and friends, every little helps, that is what has allowed us to achieve what we have so far.

Once again there will be an opportunity to donate to this fund as you leave church today so please be generous. There are envelopes available for those who can gift aid their donations, this increases any gift by 25% at no extra cost to the donor and will make a significant difference to the fund, so if you are a UK taxpayer please consider doing this if you can.

Thanks once again for your generosity and support so far and wishing you all a Happy Christmas!
