Cycle A – 25thMay to 31st May 2008
Today’s feast, the Body and Blood of Christ, celebrates this gift of the Eucharist. It gives us the opportunity to think about what happens when we celebrate the Eucharist and to remember what makes it so special. It is easy to take the liturgy and sacrament for granted: they become familiar and perhaps even uninspiring. But by allowing this familiarity to make us numb to the amazing gift of the Eucharist, we can also take Christ’s sacrifice for granted.
Let us use today as a real chance to refresh our sense of the sacrament and above all to give thanks for Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, and for the Eucharist which allows us to become one and to gain eternal life.

Repository & ‘Table Top’ Sale
Many thanks to the volunteers that have helped to sort out and sell the various non-religious items that have been reclaimed from the Hallam Book shop. We still have a quantity of goods left and would ask for any help you are able to give over the next week. All the religious items will go on the newly formed Repository at the back of the Cathedral. If you are able to help in the Repository before/after any of the weekday or weekend Masses please give your name and a contact number to one of the priests or contact Marie in the office. We can then begin to stock the Repository with the relevant Catholic material that you regularly ask for.
