The SVP Charity Shop on Abbeydale Road has the sole purpose of raising funds for the Furniture Store on Queen’s Road. Over the last three years its profits have gone up year on year and we would like this to continue.

However, we have a serious shortage of volunteers. This is resulting in the shop having to close for whole days in recent weeks. When this happens it costs us money which is so desperately needed.

A spokesperson for the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales said:

We believe that services which offer or refer for abortion – whether commercial or not-for-profit organisations – should not be allowed to advertise on broadcast media.

Hallam and Nottingham Diocese Padley Pilgrimage – Sunday 11th July

This year’s Pilgrimage will be presided over by the Archbishop of Westminster, Vincent Nichols. Outdoor Mass will take place at 3.30pm with pilgrims assembling to process the short walk from Grindleford Station at 3pm. For further details and directions please pick up a leaflet at the back of church.

Hallam Youth are walking to Padley to join the pilgrimage to Mass. There are 2 starting points: Endcliffe Park and Longshaw Estate. For further details on the walks, please see the posters displayed in church.

Website Redesign

If you have landed on this page it is likely that you were expecting to see the old familiar and slightly worn website.

Over the next few weeks I am redesigning the website and so need to mention a few things.
1. It is a little more secure with fewer advertisements for pharmaceutical products.
2. It will start in a very primitive way and get better.
3. I would be most grateful if you could tell me where it goes right and wrong, and what you would recommend.
4. If you would like to volunteer to help me please say so.
